We are on an over night train heading south to the beaches. We don't look great, but it was a very comfy ride.
Overnight train rides are definitely the best way to travel long distances in Thailand.
Our later experiences traveling on overnight ferry (sleeping sardine-style) and bus
rides (the Thais are not smooth drivers) were very sleepless & uncomfortable.
