El Jadida to Oualidia on the coast highway. To the west a small strip of land divided the highway from the ocean. It stretched for miles, farmers eking out a living, this is one of the most productive farmland in the desert country.

The farmland gave way to Oualidia. A lagoon town populated by local fishermen and frequented by Moroccan tourists.

Not enough money for a boat? Then you have to brave the cold waves on shore, cast your line and hope the fish swim to you.

You could stare for hours at the forms the water makes on the rocks.

The water was too cold and rough to swim, but the beach was prime for walking.

The water was so clear, the sun so bright and the sand the perfect color that you could see your reflection.

Like seemingly all Moroccan towns, this one had a fortified wall. The old cannon that used to protect against attack now points impotent to the waters down below. The next invading army will probably be foreign tourists with their money. These will be greeted with open palms instead of guns.

Diving into some local food, tajine. They were nice enough to give us forks which are not usually used by Moroccans.
